The Tamil Nadu State Government Film Awards for the year 2007 and 2008 were announced yesterday. Awards for the year 2007 Best film (1st prize) Shivaji Best film (2nd prize0 Mozhi Best film (3rd prize) Pallikoodam Best actor Rajnikanth (Shivaji) Best actress Jyothika (Mozhi) Awards for the year 2008 Best film (1st prize) Dasavatharam Best film (2nd prize) Abhiyum Naanum Best film ( 3rd prize) Santhosh Subramaniam Best actor Kamal Haasan (Dasavatharam) Best actress Sneha (Pirivom Sandhipom) The awards, announced on Monday, also saw chief minister M Karunanidhi win a prize for the dialogues for Uliyin Osai (2008). There are 31 awards announced for 2007 and 34 for 2008. Pallikoodam' won Thankar Bachan the best director award for 2007 while Radha Mohan got the prize for for 2008 for Abhiyum Naanum' that explored a father's deep bond for his daughter. The film also fetched Trisha a special award.
