With technical snags and flight delays becoming a common and regular phenomenon at Chennai international airport, passengers complain of the inattentive attitude of airline officials. The negligent attitude of the airline officials leads to runway roko and protests inside the terminal, at least once a week. Revealing more a senior airport official said, the number of flight delays has increased in the past three months due to various reasons including bad weather in northern destinations. “But during unexpected delays, most of the airline officials fail to respond to passenger queries immediately and sometimes airline staff will simply disappear from the scene’’.‘’According to Deepika whose flight was delayed by five hours says that since the airline officials know about the flight delays in advance they could give the latest information on the flight which they travel. The passengers further added that when airline staff blamed it on bad weather, Air India and other airlines operated services on time’’,. The passengers said that if the Government could put an end to this problem soon it would be very helpful for the passengers to save their travel time in the midst of their busy schedule. M. Stephen.
