Lawyers will be boycotting courts today to highlight their demands, including action against police officers who beat up lawyers on the High Court premises on February 19 this year. Madras High Court Advocates Association president R.C. Paul Kanagaraj said the decision was to express solidarity with the Federation of District and Subordinate Courts Bar Associations of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, which, at its executive committee meeting at Tirunelveli, decided to boycott courts on July 31.In addition to the federation’s demands, the association wanted action against police officers responsible for the February 19 incident.
